We continuously strive to serve our Sea Services

  • Our Council participates in awards ceremonies when requested by our adopted units.  We respond with monetary stipends, certificates and gifts to the "best of the best".
  • Our Council donates funds to the Morale Welfare and Recreation Funds of area commands and to those of visiting Navy and Coast Guard vessels.  The amounts are not huge, but they make a difference.
  • We generate and present certificates to visiting dignitaries, commands and vessels. Examples: CNO  ADM Mike Mullen; USS RUSSELL (DDG-59); USS SHOUP (DDG-86); USS HOWARD (DDG-83); USS MOBILE BAY (CG-53); USS BON HOMME RICHARD (LHD-6); USS BOXER (LHD-4)USS NIMITZ (CV-68), the USCGC GEORGE COBB, the USCGC PIKE and the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CV-73). We likewise have been granted access to these vessels and their crew as Navy Leaguers.
  • Military family support

    • We offer direct support to military families in need. We work directly and interface with with military ombudsmen; financial conselors; civic organizations; support groups; corporations; reserve and active duty commands.
    • We tirelessly lobby for the passage of legislation to help protect the well-being of our military -- the most recent measure being the passage of a measure to prohibit predatory lending to members of the military and their families.
    • We are engaged with the leadership of the cities of Mountain View and Sunnyvale to ease the burden of the BRAC closure of the Moffett Field Navy Exchange.
    • Many reservists and active duty personnel are going through Individual Augmentation (IA) processes where they are being called to serve as a single person away from their drilling units into hostile areas. We make sure the trasition from drilling status to active duty status in a war zone is as painless as possible for all involved.
    • We offer support to the wounded warriors in the regional VA hospitals. We do what we can. It's never enough, but we do what we can.

Regional and visiting commanders have been most pleased with what our Council achieved in supporting their Sailors, CoastGuardsmen and Marines.

Now, our Council can use more people to "be there" and help out when called upon the year around.
